Safari SVG bug: horizontal and vertical lines not rendered.

This is a Webkit bug, which was initially also present in Chrome. Long fixed in Chrome. Persists in Safari 8. Fixed in Safari 9.

As an example, below the same images in svg and png.

Note: I don't observe this on the W3Schools try-svg-line page --- maybe inline SVG works differently.

Update: the bug is now fixed in WebKit.
Beta-testers of iOS 9 report it is fixed in Safari there.
Beta-testers of OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" report it is fixed in Safari version 9.0 (11601.1.37.1).
